# Video Editing

> Place a product or make a directed visual change in an existing video.

Video Editing takes your source video, one to three product images, and written instructions. It returns a new video with the requested placement or visual edit.

## Prepare your inputs

| Input | Requirement |
| - | - |
| Source video | MP4 or MOV, at most **45 seconds**. |
| Product references | One to three JPG, PNG, or WebP images of the same product. Use clear views of its shape, label, and packaging. |
| Instructions | Describe where the product belongs, its scale and movement, and what should remain unchanged. |

Use HTTPS media URLs accessible to the service. Keep them valid while processing. Use assets you have permission to edit and distribute.

## Describe the edit

For example: “Place the bottle on the kitchen counter beside the bowl. Match the existing light and perspective, retain its label, and keep the presenter, soundtrack, camera movement, and timing unchanged.”

One image is sufficient; additional views help clarify the same product. To change the person in a video instead, use [Video Replication](/docs/agents/video-replication).

## Call the agent

Use `POST /v3/agents/video-editing` with a Darwin API key carrying `tools:execute` and an `Idempotency-Key`. The [API reference](/docs/reference/agents-video-editing) includes the schema, example request, video response, and error codes.

Review the returned video for placement, continuity, product appearance, and any brand claims before publishing it. The maximum output length is also 45 seconds.
