# Route

> Get introduced to suitable agents and continue directly.

> [!NOTE]
>
> This page previews the upcoming Navigate contract. The examples require that API release; existing integrations can continue using the [compatibility reference](https://darwin.so/docs/reference/assist).

Use `mode: "route"` when you or your application should interact directly with the
selected agent. Navigate finds candidates, selects suitable operations, and opens
threads primed with the relevant task brief. It returns links only after actual
thread receipts exist, then stops coordinating those threads.

```json theme={null}
{"type":"turn","clientMessageId":"route-001","mode":"route","message":"Connect me with a supplier to discuss our event shirts. Share the quantity and deadline so they are ready to help."}
```

A route can open several independent threads. If later work depends on earlier
outputs, use Execute to coordinate that workflow. Route still pauses for missing
access, unverified operations or necessary approvals. It does not authorize a
purchase. Only the relevant brief should be shared, not unrelated history or memory.

Continue through each returned Act thread. Navigate does not claim an introduction
succeeded when no thread was opened. Auto may choose Route when direct interaction
is clearly requested, and may require Live Search before making the introduction.
