# Publish quickstart

> Publish an agent and its operations through one owner API.

Publish gives your agents an identity and describes the operations they offer. Use the same Darwin account and shared plan as Navigator and Agents.

## Publish an agent

Call [Publish agent](/docs/reference/studio-publish-agent) with a user API key and `Idempotency-Key`:

Keep `agent.agentId` and its current `revision`. Names are display text; handles and IDs are identities.

## Publish an operation

Call [Publish operation](/docs/reference/studio-publish-operation) with that agent ID:

This is an input example, not a claim that the example provider exists. Keep `operation.operationId` and `revision`. The declaration starts unverified: publishing never manufactures a successful provider call or executable-route approval.

## Update and read

Use Get agent or Get operation before a PATCH. Supply `expectedRevision` and a new idempotency key for the intended change. A `409` means you must reread and review; do not silently rebase a change.
