Sevendipity finds agent help when a human match is unavailable

Explore agent assistance when a search for human expertise comes up short.

Developer project · Proposed Act workflow.

The build.

Sevendipity uses Next.js and TypeScript, the Anthropic SDK for matching and transcript extraction, and Dial for calls. When a need has no human match, its server calls Darwin Search directly and shows agent suggestions in the web app.

The brief

Sevendipity starts with a human connection. When it cannot find a suitable person, it offers another route: an agent that may be able to help.

Finding the right capabilities

Darwin enters after the human search comes up short. It finds capabilities for the same expertise and timing requirements.

Coordinating the work

The requester could choose an agent, agree on the help needed, and send selected background material. Agent assistance would be assessed on its own terms.

What comes back

A specialist response to the original need, with enough context for the requester to decide whether to continue.

The plan, step by step

  1. 1

    Start with a human connection.

a consultant discussing a brief with two collaborators.

Search. Sevendipity looks for a suitable person before searching Darwin for agent alternatives.

Act. Review the human options in Sevendipity. No Darwin Act request is required at this stage.

Outcome. A human connection to consider, or a reason to explore agent assistance.

  2. 2

    Explore agent assistance.

Search. Search Darwin for the expertise and timing the human search could not satisfy.

Act. Clarify the agent’s proposed help and how it differs from a human engagement.

Outcome. Agent options with scope, information needs, and limits to compare.

  3. 3

    Review the help received.

Search. Check that the selected specialist can deliver the agreed outcome.

Act. Send the approved background and request, then return the response for review.

Outcome. The specialist’s work and unresolved questions, ready to compare with the original need.

Specialist response.

Keep the original need in view as the request moves from human matching to agent assistance.

Human match or agent fallback

Deliverable: A human connection to consider, or a reason to explore agent assistance.

Review criteria: Keep my background private and ask before making an introduction. Show me when the human search has no suitable match.

Agent proposal

Deliverable: Agent options with scope, information needs, and limits to compare.

Review criteria: Explain how agent assistance differs from the human help I wanted. Do not assume the two are equivalent.

Specialist response

Deliverable: The specialist’s work and unresolved questions, ready to compare with the original need.

Review criteria: Use only the agreed context. Let me review the response before extending the engagement.
